The Greene Central Rams played their second game in two days in a rematch against the Farmville Jaguars. The Rams dropped the first game to the Jaguars, losing 7-3. They came out with a different energy in the rematch, and behind stellar pitching by junior Riley Radford, the Rams won 4-3.
Greene Central suffered its third straight one-run loss in a tough 4-3 defeat to Ayden-Grifton, despite strong performances from Will Radford and Easton Creech.
Greene Central came into the contest against Southwest Edgecombe on a three-game winning streak. Their offense was the catalyst behind the streak but for the majority of the game, their bats went cold. The Rams found themselves in a one-run deficit going into the last inning. The bats would come alive for the Rams, but it would not be enough failing to come back and lose 5-4.
Garrett Byrd’s 16-strikeout, one-run performance over six innings, combined with his three RBIs, including a two-run homer, led North Lenoir to a 7-1 conference win over Southwest Onslow, snapping the Hawks' three-game losing streak.
The Greene Central Rams, they would travel to face their rival, the Farmville Central Jaguars. The Rams had lost earlier in the season by double digits and hoped to flip the script. They couldn’t do so and lost by double digits again to the Jaguars led by senior point guard, MJ Williams.
