Northside came into the game with a record of (5-2, 2-0), aiming to maintain their undefeated streak in conference play, while Jones Sr. entered the contest with a record of (0-7, 0-2), hoping to secure their first win of the season.
Southwest Onslow came into the conference matchup with a record of 3-4, 2-1, and South Lenoir with a record of 1-6, 0-3. South Lenoir came in looking to get back in the win column as they haven't won since Week 2 against non-conference Jones Sr.
Both South Lenoir and Jones Senior entered their non-conference matchup coming off week one losses. The tension between the two teams was palpable, marked by chatter, shoves, and punches. Ultimately, South Lenoir dominated, winning 42-0 over Jones Senior.
