The North Lenoir varsity soccer team took on Southwest Edgecombe in a non-conference matchup on Thursday evening. The Hawks played a very even game as they were able to beat the visiting Cougars 4-1. The win moves the Hawks to 6-2 on the season.
South Lenoir Moves Up In Conference Standings With Win
In a critical volleyball match that had implications for conference standings, the South Lenoir Lady Blue Devils hosted Southwest Onslow and emerged victorious in three sets. The win puts South Lenoir in a three-way tie for second place in the conference. With the win the Lady Blue Devils move to a 5-4 overall record and 3-1 in conference play.

"These boys and South Lenoir soccer belong with the elite programs in this conference. We've taken the necessary steps to get here, and now it's up to the boys to believe what I know," Coach Jody Turner stated.
North Lenoir Dominates East Carteret in Emotional Tribute to Late Assistant Coach
"I felt like all the boys came together and fought hard for our coach who passed away. I felt like we made him proud!" said Malik Fuller after the game. Fuller finished with 8 rushes for 283 yards and four touchdowns.
