The win puts South Lenoir in a three-way tie for second place in the conference. With the win the Lady Blue Devils move to a 5-4 overall record and 3-1 in conference play.
"These boys and South Lenoir soccer belong with the elite programs in this conference. We've taken the necessary steps to get here, and now it's up to the boys to believe what I know," Coach Jody Turner stated.
"I felt like all the boys came together and fought hard for our coach who passed away. I felt like we made him proud!" said Malik Fuller after the game. Fuller finished with 8 rushes for 283 yards and four touchdowns.
