Woodington Defeats Jones Middle in Two Sets

In an intense middle school volleyball clash, Woodington Middle School's Lady Raiders traveled to Jones Middle School on Wednesday, September 20, and left with a hard-fought victory. The Lady Raiders triumphed in two sets, finishing 25-23 and 25-19 against the Lady Trojans.
An Explosive Start
The first set was a nail-biter, as both teams demonstrated their skills and determination. For Woodington's Lady Raiders, Eliza Hawkins and Blaire Howard provided key service points that helped secure a slim 25-23 win.
An Uphill Battle
The second set proved equally exciting. Jones Middle School's Lady Trojans came out firing, quickly establishing a 7-1 lead. Just when it seemed the Trojans were in control, Woodington's ShaZarri'yel Cobb stepped up with a game-changing performance, delivering six consecutive service points to tie the score.
A Resilient Finish
Responding to the challenge, the Lady Trojans regained their footing with six straight service points to lead 13-8. But the Lady Raiders, undeterred, rallied to complete a comeback, finishing the set with a 25-19 win.
