NFHS Names Greene Central’s Benjamin Brann North Carolina State Baseball Coach of the Year

Greene Central High School’s baseball coach, Benjamin Brann, has been named the 2023-24 North Carolina State Baseball Coach of the Year by the NFHS Coaches Association. Brann takes the crown out of all classifications in the state of North Carolina.

The honor caps off a historic season in which the Rams went undefeated in the regular season, finished 29-1 overall, and won the NCHSAA 2A State Championship, their first title since 2000. The team also hasn’t lost a conference game in two years, cementing their dominance.

A 2013 graduate of Greene Central, Brann became head coach in 2022. In his first season, the team went 10-12, but progress followed quickly. The Rams improved to 22-4 in 2023, and in 2024, they swept defending champion Burns High School in the state championship series, winning 2-0 and 8-5. Over three seasons, Brann has compiled an impressive 43-17 record.

With Brann at the helm, Greene Central baseball continues to set a new standard of excellence.
