Eli Kearney, a standout pitcher from North Lenoir High School, has officially committed to continue his baseball career at Lenoir Community College (LCC). Over his high school career, Kearney has compiled impressive stats, including a 10-2 win/loss record, 68 strikeouts, and a commendable 2.10 ERA over 59 innings pitched.

When asked about his feelings on advancing to collegiate baseball, Kearney expressed genuine excitement.

"I’m pretty stoked knowing I have a chance to continue playing the sport I love at a higher level," he said. His anticipation to join LCC is not just about playing baseball but also about learning from Coach Gary Smith and being part of a new team environment.

Reflecting on his journey, Kearney acknowledged that baseball has been a significant part of his life since childhood.

"Baseball has always been a big part of my life," Kearney remarked, noting his early dreams of playing in the MLB and how his aspirations have evolved over time. His commitment to the sport is intertwined with his academic and personal goals, making his step up to college ball a meaningful part of his growth.

Kearney also took the opportunity to express gratitude towards those who have supported him throughout his journey. He highlighted the constant support from his family—his Dad Chad Kearney, Mother Amy, sister Emma, and Pop—as well as key mentors who have shaped his athletic development.

"I’ve had some really good coaches," he said, extending special thanks to Coy Barnett, Jeremy Anderson, Jabo Fulghum, and his high school coaches Josh Ayers and Cameron Sherrer. Notably, he credited his father, a pivotal figure in his life, who not only coached him in his early years but also taught him how to pitch.

As Eli Kearney prepares to transition to Lenoir Community College, his journey reflects a blend of talent, dedication, and the invaluable support of family and mentors. His story is a testament to the enduring spirit of high school athletes moving up to the next level in their sporting careers.
